Today, some of the NTEA crew delivered gifts and food to the family we adopted for the holidays. I'm touched that everyone at the NTEA cares so deeply. This family is in need, and with just a minimal effort, we have made their holiday very special. Even with 6 people delivering the items, it still took us a couple trips to and from the cars to unload all the goodies!
The mother cried when she thanked us. It was so heartwarming that my eyes began to mist, and I think it's safe to say that I'm not alone on that! It's moments like these when we know that there is more to the season. For this family, it wasn't the type of toys or clothing they received that matters; it's that they received it. It makes me truly thankful for what I have in life and gives me a better perspective for when I think of what I don't have.
I know this will sound like a timeless Christmas cliche, but I think the greatest gift of all is that we give of ourselves and take care of those in need.
Thanks for caring, thanks for sharing, and all that good stuff! :-D
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!!

Jumping on the blog wagon...
I think as everyone gets more used to this medium, we will appreciate a fast and fun way to stay in-tuned to what's going on. :-)
I will take a quick moment to say I'm pretty excited that I have been with the NTEA for almost a year now! It's overwhelming (in a good way) to think about how much I've learned, and to know that I have a lot more to learn each day. I went from daily searches on our glossary; trying to understand all the truck lingo that I've never heard of--to educating my buddies on the different components of trucks that we pass by on our roadtrips. "They're a member," I exclaim as my friends look at me with a glazed stare.
My friends might not share the same enthusiasm as I do when it comes to NTEA member recognition, but I'm glad to show them that I care about our association and how hard we work for our industry.
That's all for now, folks! Thanks for reading :-)
